The National Certification Body of Jamaica (NCBJ) provides affordable management systems certification services within Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, through committed and competent personnel and a certification decision based on impartiality.
The National Certification Body of Jamaica (NCBJ) has become the first certification body in the Caribbean region to be accredited to offer certification of management systems to both manufacturing and service industries, in the private and public sectors. As an independent certification unit of the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ), NCBJ embraces the key values of competence, impartiality, confidentiality, continual improvement and professionalism.
Certification of management systems is the NCBJ’s core function. The NCBJ offers a variety of services including but not limited to certification of management systems to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 by way of:
- Initial certification
- Transfers
- Recertification
The NCBJ has been established to achieve institutional strengthening and promotion of the national quality infrastructure, and demonstrates the competence required worldwide in the certification of organizations which have met the requirements of these rigorous international standards.
Promoting a Quality Culture
The NCBJ team is committed to promoting a culture of quality throughout Jamaica and the Caribbean and has developed a number of initiatives which provide technical support and knowledge for leaders, practitioners and persons who work in organizations implementing and maintaining quality and environmental management systems.
Annually, NCBJ leads the process of recognizing and celebrating World Quality Day and participates in World Standards Day activities which focus on quality and environmental management system (QEMS) standards, their implementation and related certification activities. Through the media and various national publications, NCBJ highlights the broad spectrum of careers in quality: auditors, professionals and practitioners who work in the field of quality, thereby contributing to the development of the national quality infrastructure and by extension, the national economy.
