Name of Mirror Committee: National Mirror Committee for ISO / CASCO – Conformity Assessment Committee

Overview of Scope of Work:

The scope of this Committee is to mirror the work of the ISO CASCO.  The Terms of Reference includes the means of assessing the conformity of products, processes, services and management systems to appropriate standards or other technical specifications.  The Committee met and provided comments on several documents during the period.

Achievements to date

The NMC which was established in 2014 has participated in the international standards development process by following the work of ISO CASCO and commenting on the standards that impact the conformity assessment processes implemented in Jamaica.

The NMC to date has submitted 100% votes on ballots as required for the period.

Summary:

Cdr. Michael Rodriguez is currently the Chairperson for the CASCO NMC. Cdr., Rodriguez’ main areas of expertise are Management Systems Consultancy; he is also a certified trainer and implementer for ISO 9001, 14001, 14060 and 45001. Over 15 years ISO Quality, Environmental, OHS Management Systems, Training, Auditing, Implementing and Facilitating, including Integrated Management Systems.

Ms. Alice Waite is currently the Vice Chair of the CASCO NMC.  She has previously worked with the following working groups:

• ISO/IEC WG42 for the revision of the ISO/IEC 17011 standard – Conformity Assessment Requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies, and
• ISO/IEC WG55: Working group responsible for the revision of ISO/IEC 17030 – Third party marks of conformity. Ms. Waite also works with the youth ministry in St. Peter’s Methodist Church and the Portmore Circuit of the Methodist.

Mrs. Jacqueline Scott Brown is the Technical Secretary for ISO/CASCO NMC. Member of ISO TC 283 Working Group (WG) ISO TC 283 Task IGroup(TG) 5 currently working on auditing practices for Occupational Health and Safety auditors. She is also the Manager for TSL Certification Services International Ltd. AEC and TAC Member for Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC).

Mrs. Scott-Brown is a Quality Management & Food Safety Systems Practitioner and her hobbies include - Mentoring, cooking gourmet dishes, traveling both locally & internationally, family road trips, reading, and gardening. She has a passion for missions locally and overseas and possesses a talent for baking pastries and wedding cakes.

Mrs. Gabrielle Andrade-Bell speaks both Spanish and English and serves on the IAAC’s Documentation Subcommittee as Vice-Chair in addition to working at the Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC) where she holds the post of Accreditation Manager.

Mrs. Navenia Wellington-Ford, is the Manager of the National Certification Body of Jamaica and serves as the representative on the CASCO NMC and the National Food Standards Technical Committee.
