The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ), a statutory body providing standardization, conformity assessment and metrology services, is committed to quality and information security while conforming to the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17024 and ISO/IEC 27001 and all other applicable obligations.   We are committed to being guided by the principles of ISO 14001.  We will strive to continually improve our management system to efficiently develop and deliver products and services to our customers/stakeholders through visionary leadership, consultation and teamwork while taking steps to prevent pollution and minimise the impact of our activities on the environment.

  • comply with the provisions of the governing legislation and all other enactments relevant to our operations.
  • maintain conformity to ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17024 and ISO/IEC 27001 standards.
  • determine risks that may affect our operations and address them; identify opportunities that can be pursued and evaluate actions taken for effectiveness.
  • provide our employees with the necessary resources, including training and equipment, and establish and maintain a working environment that supports the provision of quality products and services to all interested parties.
  • implement strategies to manage and control the significant environmental aspects that have been identified.
  • update this policy, our objectives and targets periodically in consultation with employees and other interested parties and make amendments where necessary.
