Terms and Conditions

General Refund Guidelines 

Refunds will be considered in accordance with the nature of the product or service purchased. 

Due to the digital and intellectual property nature of many BSJ products, refunds are handled under specific conditions as outlined below. 

Standards and Digital Publications 

  • All purchases of downloadable standards, digital publications, and electronic documents are FINAL and NON-REFUNDABLE once the document has been downloaded or accessed. 
  • Refunds may only be granted if: 
  • The wrong document was supplied due to an error on the part of BSJ 
  • The document purchased is proven to be technically defective or inaccessible 

Printed Standards and Physical Products 

Refunds or exchanges for physical products (e.g., printed standards, bamboo products, testing equipment) may be considered under the following conditions: 

  • The product is defective or damaged upon delivery 
  • The incorrect item was supplied 
  • The item is returned unused and in its original condition 

Requests must be made within 7 business days of receipt. 

Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was made by BSJ. 

Training Courses and Events 

Refunds for courses, workshops, and training programs are handled as follows: 

  • Cancellation more than 10 business days before the event: Full refund 
  • Cancellation 5–10 business days before the event: 50% refund 
  • Cancellation less than 5 business days before the event: No refund 

BSJ reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events and will provide full refunds where applicable. 

How to Request a Refund 

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to: 

Email: info@bsj.org.jm 
Subject: Refund Request – [Order Number] 

The request should include: 

  • Order number 
  • Reason for refund 
  • Supporting documentation (where applicable) 

Order Cancellations 

Orders may be cancelled under the following conditions: 

  • Digital products: before the product has been downloaded or accessed 
  • Physical products: before the item has been dispatched 
  • Training courses: in line with the training refund schedule 

Once a digital product has been accessed, cancellation is not permitted. 

BSJ Right to Cancel 

BSJ reserves the right to cancel orders for reasons including but not limited to: 

  • Pricing errors 
  • Fraudulent transactions 
  • Unavailability of product 
  • Incomplete payment 

In such cases, customers will be notified and fully refunded. 

Digital Products 

Most BSJ standards and publications are delivered electronically. 

  • Digital documents are made available immediately upon successful payment. 
  • Customers will receive an email confirmation with download instructions. 
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the correct email address is provided. 

BSJ is not responsible for: 

  • Incorrect email addresses provided by customers 
  • Loss of downloaded files after delivery 
  • Compatibility issues on customer devices 

 

Physical Products 

For printed materials and other physical goods: 

  • Orders are processed within 3–5 business days 
  • Delivery timelines depend on the selected courier and destination 
  • Shipping fees are calculated at checkout 

Estimated delivery timelines: 

  • Jamaica: 3–7 business days 
  • Caribbean Region: 7–14 business days 
  • International: 10–21 business days 

 

Delivery Addresses 

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information. BSJ will not be liable for delays or losses resulting from incorrect addresses. 

 

Customs and Duties 

For international orders, customers are responsible for: 

  • Import duties 
  • Taxes 
  • Customs clearance fees 

 

Order Tracking 

Where applicable, tracking information will be provided via email after dispatch. 

 

Failed Deliveries 

If a package is returned due to: 

  • Incorrect address 
  • Failure to collect 
  • Refusal to accept delivery 

The customer will be responsible for any additional shipping charges.
