The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) announces the adoption of the following standards as mandatory Jamaican Standards:

1. ISO 8124-1:2018 Safety of toys — Part 1: Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties
2. ISO 8124-2:2014 Safety of toys — Part 2: Flammability
3. ISO 8124-3:2010 Safety of toys — Part 3: Migration of certain elements
4. ISO 8124-4:2014 Safety of toys — Part 4: Swings, slides and similar activity toys for indoor and outdoor family domestic use
5. ISO 8124-5:2015 Safety of toys — Part 5: Determination of total concentration of certain elements in toys
6. ISO 8124-6:2018 Safety of toys — Part 6: Certain phthalate esters in toys and children's products
7. ISO 8124-7:2015 Safety of toys — Part 7: Requirements and test methods for finger paints

These standards were developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). They were reviewed by stakeholders and are to be adopted after a one month period of non-objection.
