Empowers participants with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to navigate the complex food industry with an understanding of the science-based discipline of food safety. Through this course, they will be introduced to the key terminologies, international authorities, standards regulators, regulations from jurisdictions that are primary players, and the preventative controls to safeguard human health through safe food manufacturing and distribution practices. This instructor-led online course will immerse participants in lectures, critical discussions, direct/guided instructions, and problem-solving exercises. Learners will also have the opportunity to participate in various authentic scenario-based learning activities and design a plan to apply a selected GFSI standard to an organization of choice with expert guidance.
